Clothes and Adornments of Jiarong Tibetan
Before liberation, Jiarong Tibetans in different tribes had different clothes and adornments on the body, and after 1949, they unified gradually their clothes and adornments. As the mix and effect of Han nationality culture in recent years, more and more Jiarong Tibetans start to wear Han clothing. However, when travelling in Mount Siguniangshan area, you can also see the unique clothes, especially in the local festivals.
Men's Clothes and Adornments
Usually, men keep long hairs to braids that Manchus have the same habit, and use green cloth vail or towel to encase the top of their head. They wear long gowns, local white and green trousers, and straw sandals whose hemp is weaved manually. Their legs are swathed by Muzi. Knives or forks are hanged on the left waist. Some men wear long-sleeved T-shirts with different colors like red, yellow or white; hats that are made from fox fur or wool fabrics, and on the hats are coral beads; Tibetan boots or shoes are made of fur.

Women's Clothes and Adornments
The clothes and adornments of women are various in styles and designs, and also are different in festival and normal time. At normal time, women keep long hairs and tie one or two braids on tip of white blue, cyan or red headlines. The fascinator covers the three-quarter part from their back neck to the top of head. On the fascinator are coral beads, Yaqianzi, Huaerzi, Zhukouqin or Zhentong. The fascinator of unmarried girls is quadrilateral or two angles with colorful lines. They wear short coat which is made of Tibetan cloth or Muzi; short trousers that is made of local cloth, and outside are colorful skirts. If women are middle-aged, their skirts are colorful pleated skirts. Belts made from Muzi about four centimeters is handed on their waists.
In festival or temple fair, women wear festival clothes and valuable adornments, like pearl necklace, lucky Changmingsuo, gold and silver brooch, gawu, etc. The gown is made from first-rated cloth. Tibetan boots and shoes are made of fur.
