Mount Emei

The one day treks cover only a section of the mountains, for a more immersive and thorough experience of that mountain two day trek is recommended. Qizanggou or Qizang Valley is one of the less explored places of Sichuan. It is located right behind Jiuzhaigou and that was one of the reasons why it didn’t become as popular as Jiuzhaigou, it was completely overshadowed. But, that’s a good thing because this fairyland is as beautiful as Jiuzhaigou and not as crowded as Jiuzhaigou.

The average elevation of this trek is 3,000m. There are two places where you have to climb over 4,000m.Tourists usually take a 4-day hiking trip in this valley. If you feel that it might get tiring for the kids there is horseback riding option. Rent the horses before you start the trek and they can carry the bags too. Some of the attractions you will see are Diexi Lake, Chuanzhusi Temple, Pingtou Qiang Village, and 2008 memorial site. This is the best way kids can experience the joy of outdoor camping, setting up tents, and the works.

Shuangqiao Valley in Mount Siguniang

You can do leisure hiking and sightseeing around the valley. People usually trek from Changping valley to Bipeng Valley or from Bipeng Valley to the Mount Siguniangshan. This valley also grows bamboos for more than 1,000 acres as it is favorite food of the national gem—the pandas. Bipenggou valley is a fun, relaxed hangout spot and trekking spot to enjoy with your kids.

Hailuogou Glacier Park

Located to the east of Mount Gongga is the famous Haliuogou Glacier Park known for the low altitude ice glaciers.
