Seda County is situated at the northeastern highland region of Ganzi Tibetan Prefecture and northwestern Sichuan Province, bordering on Dari County and Banma County of Guoluo Tibetan Prefecture, Qinghai Province. The whole county has complex topography and landforms, with an average elevation of over 4000m.

The climate of Seda County belongs to the continental plateau monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of -1 degree and less than 60% standard oxygenation of the atmosphere, generally causing altitude sickness.

Best Time to visit Seda

The best time to visit Seda is during the months of April, May, June and October. At that time, ones can enjoy the breathtaking natural landscapes of Seda, and even the whole western Sichuan. July, August and September are the rainy season and the months from November to the next March are the winter of Seda. Although it has the bad road condition and dangerous frozen roads in the winter, tourists can see the most beautiful snow sceneries, which is one wonders of Seda due to the high elevation.

What to bring when visiting Seda ?

In the county, the elevation is about 3800m, the annual average temperature is -1 degree. Therefore, when visiting Seda regions, tourist need to take cold-proof clothes, such as cotton down jacket, thick sweater and pants, etc. Scarf, gloves, thick socks are need in the plateau. Sun cream and hand cream for strong ultraviolet radiation. Toothpaste and toothbrush are not offered at the Seda hotels.

Otherwise, there is not heating installation in the most hotels of Seda regions, be careful to keep warm when sleeping to avoid getting a cold.
