    Day 1: Chengdu - High-Speed Train to Songpan - Explore Songpan Ancient Town

    Begin your journey with a comfortable high-speed train ride from Chengdu to Huanglong Jiuzhai Railway Station. Upon arrival, your local guide and driver will meet you at the station and transfer you to Songpan Ancient Town.

    Located on the eastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau, Songpan is a historic town where Tibetan, Qiang, and Han cultures meet. Once an important trading hub along the ancient Tea Horse Road, the town still preserves its ancient city walls, traditional streets, and unique cultural atmosphere.

    In the afternoon, take a relaxing walk around Songpan Ancient Town. Explore the old streets, visit the ancient city walls, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this charming plateau town.

    Before starting your trekking adventure, your guide will help you prepare the necessary equipment and introduce the upcoming route. Take some time to rest and get ready for your journey into the beautiful wilderness of Qizanggou Valley.

    Day 2: Songpan - Qizanggou Valley Trekking - Yuhaizi Lake Campsite

    After breakfast, leave Songpan Ancient Town and transfer to Awenggou Valley, the starting point of your Qizanggou Valley trekking adventure.

    Today, you will begin trekking along the mountain trails of Qizanggou, one of Sichuan’s less-visited alpine valleys known for its untouched landscapes and peaceful surroundings. The trail takes you through forests, mountain valleys, and highland scenery as you gradually enter the wilderness of the Tibetan Plateau.

    The trek from Awenggou Valley (around 2,800m) to Yuhaizi Lake (around 2,600m) covers approximately 8 km and takes about 4 hours at a comfortable pace. Along the way, enjoy the beautiful scenery of alpine forests, open valleys, and the quiet natural environment away from the crowds.

    Upon arrival at Yuhaizi Lake, settle into your campsite and enjoy your first night surrounded by the beautiful mountain scenery of Qizanggou Valley.

    Day 3: Trek to Hongxinghaizi Lake via Hongxing Ya Kou

    Today, continue your Qizanggou Valley trekking adventure and explore one of the most spectacular landscapes in the area.

    Starting from Yuhaizi Lake Campsite, trek about 7 km to Hongxing Ya Kou (around 4,600m), a high mountain pass offering breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and valleys. After crossing the pass, continue to Hongxinghaizi Lake (around 3,800m), a peaceful alpine lake surrounded by sacred mountains.

    Known as a holy lake by local people, Hongxinghaizi Lake offers a quiet and spiritual atmosphere. Take time to enjoy the clear green waters, dramatic mountain scenery, and the untouched beauty of this remote corner of the Tibetan Plateau.

    After spending time by the lakeside, follow the same trail back to Yuhaizi Lake Campsite and enjoy another night surrounded by the peaceful mountain landscape.

    After breakfast, follow the same trail back through Qizanggou Valley and enjoy your final trekking experience in this beautiful alpine wilderness.

    Today’s trek covers approximately 8 km and takes around 4 hours. As you descend through the valley, take time to appreciate the peaceful forests, mountain scenery, and the landscapes you may have missed on the way in.

    After arriving at Awenggou Valley, your vehicle will pick you up and transfer you back to Gaotun Village near Songpan. Enjoy a well-deserved rest after the trekking adventure and relax in the comfortable local guesthouse.

    Later, your guide and driver will transfer you to Huanglong Jiuzhai Railway Station for your high-speed train back to Chengdu.

    Gears to Prepare for Yourself

    Hat, tableware, sunscreen, sunglasses, first-aid kit, raincoat, socks, toiletries (tooth paste, tooth brush, towel, tissue, etc.), food, garbage bag, warm clothes for the chilly night.

    Clothes: outdoor jacket/trousers, thermal underwear, fleece jacket, heavy overcoat, down jacket, etc.

    Itinerary Alteration

    Once we receive your tour deposit, which is followed by signing the contract, your reservation is secured with legitimacy. Our staff will reserve the accommodation, vehicle, site tickets, meals and more, and pay the deposit for our suppliers. So if you want to alter to another itinerary, you need to cover the deposit we've paid, while no service charge is needed if you make some changes on the itinerary you booked.

    Cancellation and Refund Policy

    If you cancel the tour beacuse of your personal issues, you will be liable to pay cancellation charges that are bounded by 3rdpoletour.com cancellation policy as follows:

    1.) If you cancel the tour more than 30 days before the trip starts, you will forfeit 10% of the total land cost per person;
    2.) If you cancel the tour 15-30 days prior to your trip start date, 20% of your total land tour cost will be forfeited as a cancellation fee.
    3.) If you cancel the tour 7-15 days before the trip starts, you will forfeit 30% of land cost.
    4.) If you cancel the tour 7 days prior to your tour start date, you will forfeit 50% of land cost.
    5.) If you fail to show up or cancel at your scheduled arrival time without prior notice or later than that, you will forfeit 100% of the land cost.

    If the tour has to be cancelled because of the natural disaster or the government restrictions that is beyond both parties control, we will charge only USD50 per person, this is just the service fee and larbor fee during the preparation. This is a rare occurrence!
