Trip Overview

Jiuzhaigou Valley enjoys its most beautiful appearance in fall. The sky is bright and clear. The colorful leaves are reflected on the bright and clear lakes and fallen leaves are floating on the surface of water. Your eyes are filled with the most beautiful view of the natural world. You will be surprised at the masterpiece by nature! By the way, the difference in temperature between day and night is bigger in autumn, take a thick coat with you.

Day 1: Chengdu - Bipenggou Valley - Miyaluo - Gu’ergou Valley

After breakfast, we will set off on our first destination, Bipenggou Valley, which includes virgin forests, plateau lakes, alpine meadows, snow-capped mountains, and year-round glaciers. In autumn, the hills and valleys of the whole region are covered in golden yellows, sunburnt oranges and deep reds, as the leaves of the forest trees change color ready to fall. Trekking through the Bipenggou Valley in fall (September, October and November), you will get a visual feast with the colorful vegetation, and it is a great time for those perfect, autumn photos.

Then we’ll head to Miyaluo, the largest red leaves scenic spot being found and opened. When autumn comes, the valley is a blaze of color, and the maple trees were in their autumn glory of russets, reds and browns. The interplay of bright sunshine, rolling mountains and clear rivers suggest the vitality of a scene. We’ll spend the night at Gu’ergou Valley, where the tourists could have a nice hot spring.

Day 2: Gu’ergou Valley to Jiuzhaigou Valley (365km)

Drive to Jiuzhaigou Valley today, en route we’ll pass the ancient town - Songpan, which is the military fortress historically. Have a short break here, then directly to the destination - Jiuzhaigou Valley.

Use your free time to explore the various markets scattered throughout the valley and find a nice place to enjoy a local Tibetan dinner before heading to bed.

Day 3: Explore Jiuzhaigou Valley

We'll have a full day to visit Jiuzhaigou National Park with crystal clear lakes, picturesque waterfalls, virgin forests, snow peaks and Tibetan villages to explore. Jiuzhaigou Valley enjoys its beauty in every single season, but in autumn tourists can just see the best of best. In the afternoon, we will trek for 6.5km along the highlighted lakes and colorful forests.

Day 4: Jiuzhaigou Valley - Huanglong National Park - Chuanzhusi (167km)

Take our private bus to the entrance of Huanglong National Park, then we walk along the hundreds of colorful lakes to the top along the wooden path, then walk down to appreciate the nice scenery along the way. Huanglong Scenic Area is famous for its colorful lakes, snow-topped mountains, beautiful valleys and virgin forests. In autumn, all the forests and valleys are painted by yellow, brown and red colors and reflected in the turquoise lakes. The area, inscribed on the list of World Heritage Sites in 1992 by UNESCO, has been called a "World Wonder" and “Fairy Land on Earth." In the afternoon, drive to Chuanzhusi Town.

Day 5: Chuanzhusi to Chengdu or fly back to Chengdu （325km）

Our tour guide and driver will transfer you to the airport/train station. Jiuzhaigou tour ends.

Price Inclusions

Private transportation to the destinations and sites listed in the itinerary; ranging from 4WD land cruiser to bus depending on the group size and trip route; car gasoline, road toll and in-transport refreshments (free bottles of water, air pillow and headscarf) are included;

Price Exclusions

International and domestic flight/train to Chengdu (Note: we accept the domestic flight/train tickets booking to Chengdu from other cities in advance, check the updated ticket availibility and cost with your travel consultant);
Meals that are not specified in the itinerary (Averagely a meal in the 3rdpole region cost 3~10USD per person);
Tips and gratuities for the trip leader and driver;
The expense of a personal nature like alcoholic beverages, laundry, phone call, etc;
Optional activities and excursions not specified in the itinerary;

Itinerary Alteration

Once we receive your tour deposit, which is followed by signing the contract, your reservation is secured with legitimacy. Our staff will reserve the accommodation, vehicle, site tickets, meals and more, and pay the deposit for our suppliers. So if you want to alter to another itinerary, you need to cover the deposit we've paid, while no service charge is needed if you make some changes on the itinerary you booked.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

If you cancel the tour because of your personal issues, you will be liable to pay cancellation charges that are bounded by 3rdpoletour.com cancellation policy as follows:

1.) If you cancel the tour more than 30 days before the trip starts, you will forfeit 10% of the total land cost per person;
2.) If you cancel the tour 15-30 days prior to your trip start date, 20% of your total land tour cost will be forfeited as a cancellation fee.
3.) If you cancel the tour 7-15 days before the trip starts, you will forfeit 30% of land cost.
4.) If you cancel the tour 7 days prior to your tour start date, you will forfeit 50% of land cost.
5.) If you fail to show up or cancel at your scheduled arrival time without prior notice or later than that, you will forfeit 100% of the land cost.

If the tour has to be cancelled because of the natural disaster or the government restrictions that is beyond both parties control, we will charge only USD50 per person, this is just the service fee and larbor fee during the preparation. This is a rare occurrence!
