This seven-day tour takes you from the modern Chinese capital to the ancient capital of the imperial era more than 2,000 years ago and on to visit the endangered pandas that have been a part of historic China for thousands of years. This unique tour is one of the best options for those that want to explore some of the more ancient aspects of Chinese history and culture and learn more about the cutest bears on the planet.
The tour begins with a visit to the unique sites of Beijing, the capital of modern China. Here, you will have the chance to visit some of the most spectacular sites of China’s history, from the Forbidden Palace and the Ancestral Temple to the beauty of Beihai Park and the wonders of the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu. Then it is on by high-speed train to the ancient capital of Imperial China, Xian. Here, you will be able to explore the Ancient City Wall that defended Xian for centuries, and roam around the Grand Mosque and visit the archaeological site of one of the world’s most outstanding discoveries, the Terracotta Warriors of the First Emperor of China. Buried under a farmer’s field for more than 2,200 years, this ancient army was built to accompany the Emperor into the afterlife. After visiting the Wild Goose Pagoda, you’ll take a short high-speed train ride to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. Here you will spend the full day of the tour exploring the famous Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, the premier site for the breeding and rehabilitation of giant pandas into the wild of Southwest China.

Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Beijing Arrival
Upon your arrival at the Beijing Airport, our tour guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel in Beijing. The rest of the day is for you to relax.

Day 2: Beijing Day Tour: Forbidden City, Imperial Ancestral Temple, Beihai Park

Today, you will head to visit the three famous attractions in Beijing, namely, Forbidden City, Imperial Ancestral Temple, and Beihai Park.
Forbidden City, the palace of emperors, marking the supreme power and authority. Here, you will see where emperors lived and how fancy the building is. You will see the magnificent and delicate structure built by hands hundreds of years ago.
In Imperial Ancestral Temple, you can see how emperors did ancestor worship, all kinds of implements are used for the emperor to worship their ancestors.
Finally, you will visit Beihai Park in the northwest of the Forbidden City. You can experience how ancient emperors walk in their imperial garden, walking on the trestle bridge, look down to the clear water, refreshing your body.

Day 3: Beijing Day Tour: Mutianyu Great Wall and Take the High-speed Train from Beijing to Xian

Today you will visit Mutianyu Great Wall, a section of Great Wall a little bit less crowded than Badaling Great Wall. With the whole set of the Great Wall, ancient China proved to be an impregnable country. You will be amazed at the formation of ancient Chinese workers and the wisdom of the designers.
After that, the guide will transfer you to the train station for the high-speed train to Xian. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel.

Day 4: Xian Tour: Ancient City Wall, Grand Mosque

Upon your arrival in Xian, you will be transferred to the reserved hotel and have a good rest. In the afternoon, you will be able to enjoy the Ancient City Wall of Xian by bicycle tour. The wall around the inner part of the city was built in the 14th century and is 14km long. It is an amazing example of ancient defensive structures. Then you will head to the Grand Mosque, a Chinese traditional Alhambresque architecture, with a great combination of Islamic and Chinese culture.

Day 5: Xian Tour: Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses, Wild Goose Pagoda and Take the High-speed Train from Xian to Chengdu

The next morning will see you visiting the Museum of Qin Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, a must-see when in Xian. Around 8,000 ancient, life-sized figures were created to accompany the first Emperor of China to the afterlife, and were part of his mausoleum. Each figure has a unique facial structure and expression, as if they had been made from living people. The warriors were buried with the Emperor in 208BC and were not discovered until 1974.
After the warriors, you will head to another of the most visited sites in Xian, the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Built in 652, the pagoda is a repository of Buddhist figures and scriptures brought to Xian from India by, Xuanzang, the first abbot of Daci'en Temple.
After that, the guide will transfer you to the train station for the high-speed train to Chengdu. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel.

Day 6: Chengdu Tour: Panda Base, Wenshu Temple, Renmin Park and Jinli Ancient Street

Today after breakfast, we will firstly pay a visit to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding (known as Chengdu Panda Base), where we can explore the daily life of the cute pandas and get close to the lovely creatures. Then move on to Wenshu Temple, a typical ancient monastery of Qing Dynasty in Chengdu downtown./p>
In the afternoon, we will visit Renmin Park to experience the most authentic Chengdu local life. Having a cup of tea in a traditional teahouse, watching the local old couples dancing. You will enjoy typical leisure lifestyle of Chengdu. Then move on to Jinli Ancient Street, one of the oldest streets to appreciate the local snacks and artifacts. The elegant style of the architectures tells you what Sichuan looks like during the Qing Dynasty.

Day 7: Depart from Chengdu
The guide will transfer you to the airport or train station for your next destination.

- Tips and gratuities for the trip leader and driver;

Itinerary Alteration
Once we receive your tour deposit, which is followed by signing the contract, your reservation is secured with legitimacy. Our staff will reserve the accommodation, vehicle, site tickets, meals and more, and pay the deposit for our suppliers. So if you want to alter to another itinerary, you need to cover the deposit we've paid, while no service charge is needed if you make some changes on the itinerary you booked.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
If you cancel the tour because of your personal issues, you will be liable to pay cancellation charges that are bounded by 3rdpoletour.com cancellation policy as follows:
1.) If you cancel the tour more than 30 days before the trip starts, you will forfeit 10% of the total land cost per person;
2.) If you cancel the tour 15-30 days prior to your trip start date, 20% of your total land tour cost will be forfeited as a cancellation fee.
3.) If you cancel the tour 7-15 days before the trip starts, you will forfeit 30% of land cost.
4.) If you cancel the tour 7 days prior to your tour start date, you will forfeit 50% of land cost.
5.) If you fail to show up or cancel at your scheduled arrival time without prior notice or later than that, you will forfeit 100% of the land cost.
If the tour has to be cancelled because of the natural disaster or the government restrictions that is beyond both parties control, we will charge only USD50 per person, this is just the service fee and larbor fee during the preparation. This is a rare occurrence!
