Trip Overview

Four Girls Mountain, also named Mt. Siguniangshan area, is famous for four peaked mountain ranges: Dafeng (5,025m), Erfeng (5,276m), Sanfeng (5,355m) and Yaomeifeng (6,250m), and three main valleys. On this tour, you will be able to summit the second peak of Mt. Siguniangshan which requires physical demand and necessary equipment for high altitude camping and hiking.

Rilong Town, now Siguniangshan Town, is about 240km away from Chengdu down. On the way to Rilong Town, you will have short stays at Dujiangyan Dam and 2008 Earthquake Memorial Site. To help our mountaineers acclimatize to the high altitude of the region, one day is arranged to walk along the picturesque Changping Valley. The climbs will take two days, a long hike up to Erfeng Base Camp where you will stay in the basic mountain hut overnight, then an very early morning of the second day to conquer the Second Summit and return to Rilong Town. Day 1: Chengdu Arrival

Upon your arrival at the Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, our tour guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel in Chengdu downtown. The rest of the day is yours to relax and have a good rest.

Day 2: Chengdu - Dujiangyan - Yingxiu - Wolong - Rilong Town (B)

After breakfast at the hotel around 7:30am we will set off on our first destination, Dujiangyan Dam that is honoured as the "pearl of Sichuan", the oldest and only surviving no-dam irrigation system in the world. Then stop by the 2008 Earthquake Memorial Site in Ying Xiu Town, where you will feel horrified by the destruction and devastation; stand in silence and say a little prayer for those who perished.

Ater lunch in Wolong which used to be the Giant Panda Breeding Base, we will cross the Mount Balang (4,532m) and enjoy the magnificent mountain landscape along the way; we will be able to see the panorama of Four Girls Mountain if the weather is great. At about 17:30, we will arrive in Rilong Town where the Four Girls Mountain is located.

Day 3: Rilong - Changping Valley Hiking - Rilong (B)

Hiking in Changping Valley

The Beautiful Changping Vallley

After breakfast, we will head to the Lama Temple of Changping Valley where you choose to hike or ride a horse (pay by yourself) to visit. The whole Changping Valley is about 29km with approximately 100 square kilometer. It takes about 5 hours from Lama Temple to Muluozi by hiking and about 3 hours to return back to Lama Temple.

Changping Valley connecting to the bottom of Four Girls Mountain directly, attracts tourists with its original forests, bubbling streams, thick bushes and a diverity of animals.

After the hiking, get back to Rilong Town and sleep well for tommorrow's second summit climbing.

Day 4: Rilong - Zhai Jie Ping - Guo Zhuang Ping - Shi Ban Re - Da Jian Bao - Ji Peng Zi - Da Cao - Second Summit Base Camp (B)

Hike to the Erfeng Base Camp of Mt. Sighuniangshan

Today after breakfast, we will hike along the backroad to get to the Second Summit Base Camp, and pass through Zhai Jie Ping, Guo Zhuang Ping, Shi Ban Re, Da Jian Bao, Ji Peng Zi and Da Cao. It takes about 7 hours by hiking, and the scenery on the road is spectacular. The hiking equipment will be carried by the local horse. The 7-hour hike is physically demanding, please negotiate with our tour guide and ask for a horse to ride in advance.

You will clearly see the climbing route upon arrival at the Base Camp, and our tour guide will train you with some climbing skills and tips in the afternoon.

Day 5: Erfeng Base Camp - Summit - Rilong Town (B)

Get up at 5:00am, and set off at 5:30am; our tour guide will double check whether you are great enough to climb up to the summit. Guided by the local leader and our tour guide, it usually takes about 3 hours to arrive at the summit. Upon arrival, just celebrate, enjoy, photograph and feel the success of conquering.

It takes about 2 hours to climb down to the Base Camp, and continue to hike for about 5 hours to get back to Rilong Town. You need hike more than 10 hours today, so please ask our tour guide to arrange the horse if you don't feel well. Enjoy the celebration dinner in Rilong Town.

Itinerary Alteration

Once we receive your tour deposit, which is followed by signing the contract, your reservation is secured with legitimacy. Our staff will reserve the accommodation, vehicle, site tickets, meals and more, and pay the deposit for our suppliers. So if you want to alter to another itinerary, you need to cover the deposit we've paid, while no service charge is needed if you make some changes on the itinerary you booked.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

If you cancel the tour beacuse of your personal issues, you will be liable to pay cancellation charges that are bounded by 3rdpoletour.com cancellation policy as follows:

1.) If you cancel the tour more than 30 days before the trip starts, you will forfeit 10% of the total land cost per person;
2.) If you cancel the tour 15-30 days prior to your trip start date, 20% of your total land tour cost will be forfeited as a cancellation fee.
3.) If you cancel the tour 7-15 days before the trip starts, you will forfeit 30% of land cost.
4.) If you cancel the tour 7 days prior to your tour start date, you will forfeit 50% of land cost.
5.) If you fail to show up or cancel at your scheduled arrival time without prior notice or later than that, you will forfeit 100% of the land cost.

If the tour has to be cancelled because of the natural disaster or the government restrictions that is beyond both parties control, we will charge only USD50 per person, this is just the service fee and larbor fee during the preparation. This is a rare occurrence!
