Day 1: Chengdu - Huanglong - Jiuzhaigou

Today after breakfast, you will be escorted to Chengdu Shuangliu International airport for the onward flight to Jiuzhaigou Huanglong Airport (Jiuhuang Airport), which takes about 50 minutes.

Upon your arrival at Jiuhuang Airport, head to have a local featured lunch. Then move to the Huanglong Valley (Yellow Dragon Valley), about 60km east of Jiuhuang Airport, well known for its colorful lakes, snow clad mountains, valleys and virgin forest.

After the visit, get to Jiuzhaigou, 90km northwest of Huanglong, by a 3-hour driving escorted by your personal tour guide and driver. Upon arrival, check in Jiuzhaigou Local Hotel for a good rest tonight.

The differences between Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong:

1. Location:
Huanglong is not belonged to Jiuzhaigou, but a tourist site in Songpan County, Aba Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.
While Jiuzhaigou is located in Jiuzhai County, Aba Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.

2. High Altitude:
Jiuzhaigou with an average high altitude of 2,500 meters; the odds of high altitude sickness is low;
Huanglong with an average high altitude of 3,500-4,000 meters with higher risk of altitude sickness.

3. Scenic views:
Jiuzhaigou is well known for the colorful forest, double waterfalls, green lakes, snow-capped mountains and Tibetan folk customs;
While Huanglong is honored with its calcified landscape; the highlight is the five-colored lake.

4. Visiting Length
It takes at least one whole day to visit the Jiuzhaigou National Park, while only 3~5 hours for the Huanglong Valley.

In Huanglong Valley, there are cables for the tourists going up and down the park;
In Jiuzhaigou, you can take the sightseeing buses touring around;

6. Opening Time
Jiuzhaigou is open to the public all year around; while cable in Huanglong will be closed from Dec. 15 to Next Mar. 31.

Today you will visit Jiuzhaigou National Park, well-known as a Fairy Land. Home to nine Tibetan villages scattered in its 720 sq., it consists of three valleys – Rize Valley, Shuzheng Valley and Zechawa Valley formed a shape of “Y”. There are 114 lakes, 47 springs, 17 groups of waterfalls, 11 rapids and 5 tufa shoals in total.

By using both broadwalks and the shuttle buses, you will explore the wondrous land for a whole day.

After the tour, be escorted to your hotel in Jiuzhaigou.

Itinerary Alteration

Once we receive your tour deposit, which is followed by signing the contract, your reservation is secured with legitimacy. Our staff will reserve the accommodation, vehicle, site tickets, meals and more, and pay the deposit for our suppliers. So if you want to alter to another itinerary, you need to cover the deposit we've paid, while no service charge is needed if you make some changes on the itinerary you booked.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

If you cancel the tour beacuse of your personal issues, you will be liable to pay cancellation charges that are bounded by 3rdpoletour.com cancellation policy as follows:

1.) If you cancel the tour more than 30 days before the trip starts, you will forfeit 10% of the total land cost per person;
2.) If you cancel the tour 15-30 days prior to your trip start date, 20% of your total land tour cost will be forfeited as a cancellation fee.
3.) If you cancel the tour 7-15 days before the trip starts, you will forfeit 30% of land cost.
4.) If you cancel the tour 7 days prior to your tour start date, you will forfeit 50% of land cost.
5.) If you fail to show up or cancel at your scheduled arrival time without prior notice or later than that, you will forfeit 100% of the land cost.

If the tour has to be cancelled because of the natural disaster or the government restrictions that is beyond both parties control, we will charge only USD50 per person, this is just the service fee and larbor fee during the preparation. This is a rare occurrence!
