This 15-day Everest Kailash to Kathmandu overland tour is best for you who desire a following tour to Nepal. After your trekking tour of the Mount Kailash, it will take you to the border of China and Nepal and you are free to continue your next trip.
After spending a few days in Lhasa with the splendid Potala Palace, the sacred Jokhang Temple, as well as the famous monasteries of Sera and Drepung, you will depart Lhasa for the magnificent Mount Everest to get close to it. Then you will head to the mighty Mount Kailash for the pilgrimage circuit. After that, our vehicle will drive you to Zhangmu where you can start your next tour to Nepal.

Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: Lhasa Arrival

Upon your arrival at the Lhasa Gonggar Airport, our tour guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel in Lhasa. After checking into your hotel, the rest of the day is free for you to have a good rest and acclimatize yourself to the high altitude at Tibet. Get prepared for your tour in Lhasa.

Day 2: Lhasa

The Splendid Potala Palace

Jokhang Temple
After breakfast in your hotel, your personal private will pick you up to visit the splendid Potala Palace, the cardinal landmark in Lhasa. The whole morning is for you to appreciate this world-level architectural work.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Johkang Temple, the spiritual center of Tibet. Tibetan people from all over the world come here to kowtow in the front of the entrance with their pure heart.
Finally, you can spend some time walking on around the Jokhang Temple in Barkhor Street where is full of religious atmosphere.

Day 3: Lhasa

The Beautiful Norbulingka Park

Scriptures Debating in Sera Monastery
After breakfast in your hotel, you will be picked up to visit the Norbulingka Park, which was used as the summer palace for successive Lamas holding festival celebrations. After that, head to visit Drepung Monastery, the most important monastery of Gelugpa in Tibetan Buddhism.
In the afternoon, head to visit Sera Monastery to see the famous scriptures debating in this monastery.

Day 4: Lhasa - Shigatse

Yamdrok Lake

Pelkor Monastery
Today, you will be driven to view the Yamdrok Lake, one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet which you can never have a panorama. It is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and fed by numerous small Himalayan streams. Just enjoy the breathtaking blue Yamdrok Lake.
Then head to Gyantse and visit the Pelkor Monastery where displays sculptures, murals and carvings. Then drive to Shigatse where you will stay overnight.

Everest Base Camp

After breakfast, we will drive to Everest Base Camp. If you are lucky to meet a nice day, just enjoy the splendid views along the way. Then pay a visit to Rongbuk Monastery, the the highest monastery in the world enjoying a height of 4,980 meters.

Today we will drive to Saga from Everest Base Camp. Along the way, you will have some view of the Tibetan villages and have a chance to see how they live.

Day 7: Saga - Darchen

On the way to Darchen, you will have a chance to appreciate the stunning view of the Saga valley between Gangdise Range and Himayala Range. Meanwhile, the beautiful grassland and local's villages can also be seen. As we cross the Mayomla Pass(5112M), you can enjoy the spectacular vista of Mt. Naimonanyi(7694M). Then we are supposed to pass by the holy Lake Manasarover and finally arrive at the southern foot of Mt.Kailash, the most holy mountain in Tibet.

Day 8: Trek to Dirapuk Monastery

As a tourist, If you don’t want start hiking from Darchen, you can take the eco bus to Sershong about 8km from where most tourists usually begin their hiking, the porters and Yaks also start from there.
If you start the Circuit Kora from Sershong, then it’s an hour shorter walk with 12km. Hike along the Lhachu valley the marvelous sceneries around and the north face of Mount Kailash. Local pilgrims believe every single of the stones or plants are holy.

Day 9: Trek to Zutulpuk Monastery

Today is the most challenging day, start hiking toward Dromala pass 5,630m, about 580m ascending the zigzag trail with harsh climate will make you very exhausting but no matter very devoted local pilgrims who do prostrate all the way make you encourage and incredible landscapes on the way including the stunning view of sunrise on the Kailash will give you more energy to complete your Kora/circuit. After crossing Dromala la pass, descending 500m the trails turn rocky, dry and steep. Walking sticks are very helpful here. Soon afterwards you will likely reach to a tent guesthouse where trekkers usually take a break for hot tea, then hike continuously along the Dzong-chu to Zutrulpuk Gonpa.

Day 10: Trek Back to Darchen

Leaving from Zutrulpuk the trail follows the river closely, after walking about one and half hours climb above a Red Cliffs glance back the beautiful valley which you have hiked through. After ten minutes walking down the cliff, you will reach to Barkha where most trekkers are picked up by eco bus accept the pilgrims, but still there are some trekkers who continue the circuit ending at Darchen as local pilgrims, 1 more hour hike to Darchen so it’s up to your decision. Have a good relax and nice shower in the afternoon.

Day 11: Darchen to Saga
After breakfast, we will drive to Saga.

After breakfast, we will drive to Sakya and visit Sakya Monastery here.

In the morning, we will visit ancient Sakya town and you can tour Sakya monastery with amzing murals and huge collection of scriptures and statues.Then we are abou to drive from Sakya to Shigatse.

Day 14: Shigatse to Lhasa

Friendship Highway

Friendship Highway
After breakfast, we will drive about 280km back to Lhasa along the Friendship Highway. The whole journey may takes about 6 hours and you can enjoy the beauriful landscape along the Yarlung Tsangpo River, which is the longest river in Tibet.

This day is free for you until you head to your next destination or take flight to get back home.

Itinerary Alteration
Once we receive your tour deposit, which is followed by signing the contract, your reservation is secured with legitimacy. Our staff will reserve the accommodation, vehicle, site tickets, meals and more, and pay the deposit for our suppliers. So if you want to alter to another itinerary, you need to cover the deposit we've paid, while no service charge is needed if you make some changes on the itinerary you booked.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
If you cancel the tour beacuse of your personal issues, you will be liable to pay cancellation charges that are bounded by 3rdpoletour.com cancellation policy as follows:
1.) If you cancel the tour more than 30 days before the trip starts, you will forfeit 10% of the total land cost per person;
2.) If you cancel the tour 15-30 days prior to your trip start date, 20% of your total land tour cost will be forfeited as a cancellation fee.
3.) If you cancel the tour 7-15 days before the trip starts, you will forfeit 30% of land cost.
4.) If you cancel the tour 7 days prior to your tour start date, you will forfeit 50% of land cost.
5.) If you fail to show up or cancel at your scheduled arrival time without prior notice or later than that, you will forfeit 100% of the land cost.
If the tour has to be cancelled because of the natural disaster or the government restrictions that is beyond both parties control, we will charge only USD50 per person, this is just the service fee and larbor fee during the preparation. This is a rare occurrence!
