Mount Emei Food and Dining
Located in Sichuan province, Emei Mountain is one of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China, which attracts millions of tourists to come. Like other places in Sichuan, Emeishan also offers kinds of unique food. So when you take an Emei Mountain tour, you shall not forget to taste the local snacks.
Where to Eat in Emei City
There are many famous restaurants in Emei city, which offer much delicious food as well as snack. These restaurants are usually located in downtown areas - Yizhen delicious food street, which is located in Guangming Avenue. It is very convenient for you to get there from Emei Mountain Scenic Spot, as well as the Emei Train Station.
The food offered in local restaurants is almost Sichuan cuisine such as Mapo tofu, double cooked pork, Kung Pao chicken, etc. Besides, there are also a lot of snacks you can taste, like Bean Curd Jelly, Dumpling, Bean Jelly, Bobo chicken, Chaoshou and so on.
If you are not accustomed to the local food, you can also choose to have meal in other places, for example, KFC, CSC, local small restaurant which is nearby Shuyuan Street. You can taste some home cooking, such as porridge, soup or other delicious food.
What’s more, you can also eat in scenic spot where it has many restaurants such as Jinding restaurant which will be introduced subsequently.
What to Eat in Mount Emei Scenic Spot
Generally, most tourists spend at least one night in Emei Mountain Scenic Spot. Where to eat and what to eat is always a question for them.
At the foot of Mount Emei, there is the Emeishan special food village near the Baoguo temple. It is next to the exit of Emeishan Hotel. There are usually snacks, such as Bobo chicken, Yeerba and so on. However, there is also some Sichuan cuisine and home dishing, for example fired rice with pork and something like that. The price is around 45 RMB per person. Compared with other scenic spots, it is not that expensive.
At the Golden Summit, there are also restaurants for you to choose. JindingMeishilin Restaurant is located in Jinding Hotel. The food in this restaurant belongs to Sichuan cuisine. The special food here is shredded pork with garlic sauce, potatoes stewed with spareribs, scrambled egg with tomato, etc. The price is about 70 RMB per person. It is much expensive. Another one is Jinding Villa, which is also providing Sichuan cuisine. Special food here is twice-cooked pork often with chili seasoning, mapo tofu, sea food soup. The price is more expensive than other restaurants, and the expense is 90 RMB per person.
Along the hiking route in Emei Mountains, there is no restaurant, but some snack counters around Wannian Temple and Qingying Pavilion area, where you can buy some local snacks and drinking water. But the price of the food on the mountain is quite higher than that of the food in the downtown. So it is suggested to prepare some food by yourself when you hike Mount Emei.
For vegetarians, there is a restaurant only offers vegetable, which named as Chansu. It is located in Leidongping.
What to Eat in Emeishan
There are also many famous snacks in Emei city, if you travel in Emeishan, you cannot miss these delicious snacks.
1. Tofu Pudding
Emei city is famous for its tofu pudding, because the water quality is good. The tofu pudding is so white that it seems like snow. In addition, it tastes soft and delicate. When you eat tofu pudding, the waiter will often offer you a dish of sauce. The mixed taste of tofu pudding together with sauce is unforgettable, which makes you want to eat another one.

3. Bobo Chicken

4. Yeerba

6. Jiabing
Although the burger is not big, the stuffing is very enough. It is usually stuffed with powder steamed beef. It seems like roujiamo, however, it is much different from roujiamo. The stuffing is powder steamed beef and it is often added with cabbage.
