Generally speaking, the spring and autumn period is the best tourist season in Leshan when the climate is moderate and the scenery is charming. If you do not need to climb up to the mountain, you can wear normally seasonal clothing, while if you choose to travel the mountain, especially the Mount Emei (where the temperature difference between the foot and peak is 13 degree), you’d better to rightly choose your clothing in case of catching a cold. You can bring warm clothing, and clothing should be loose, sweat-absorbing, but not with the very heavy coats which would become the burden and affect your speed when you are hiking. Besides you can also rent coats in the parking lot of Leidongping, Jinding Dian and Jieyin Dian. It costs RMB 20 for each piece.
Another thing you need to be aware of is that you should not wear too bright clothes when visiting Mount Emei, for bright clothes would easily stimulate the monkey, causing unnecessary troubles. At the same time, Mount Emei has thick fog and rich rainfall, it is better to carry some umbrella; please prepare sunscreen to prevent you from sun burning at Jinding scenic spots; in addition, ladies skirt is also absolutely wrong choice. You should choose a pair of Rubber soled shoes, sneakers, and lightweight backpack, no high-heeled shoes and new shoes should be considered.
