Get to Leshan from Chengdu

Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan Province, is always the departure city for a Leshan Emei tour. The distance between Chengdu and Leshan is about 160 kilometers. Thanks for the express way and Chengdu-Mianyang-Leshan Intercity Railway, it is very convenient for tourists to get to Leshan from Chengdu by both car and train.

By High-speed Train

Recently, it is the fastest way to get to Leshan from Chengdu by high-speed train along the Chengdu-Mianyang-Leshan intercity railway. Both Chengdu East Railway Station and Chengdu South Railway Station offer the highw-speed train to Leshan. And the train journey takes from 59 minutes to 1.5 hours.

From Chengdu East Railway Station, there are 10 trains to Leshan a day. The first train departs at 07:36 and the last one departs at 20:26 to Leshan Railway Station. The ticket price is RMB 125 for the business class seat, RMB 65 for the first class seat and RMB 54 for the second class seat.

From Chengdu South Railway Station, there are only 3 trains to Leshan every day. The first train departs at 11:44 and the last one departs at 20:00. The ticket price is RMB 118 for the business class seat, RMB 61 for the first class seat and RMB 51 for the second class seat.

By Bus

Before the intercity railway opened to use, to get to Leshan from Chengdu by bus is the most popular way. In Chengdu, there are many bus stations offers tourist buses to Leshan, such as Chadianzi Bus Station, Xinnanmen Bus Station, Chengdu North Bus Station, Airport Bus Station, and Shiyangchang Bus Station. Through the Chengdu-Leshan Express way, it takes 1.5 to 2 hours from Chengdu to Leshan by car. Generally, the bus ticket is around RMB 45.

However, most tourist buses just arrive at Xiaoba Bus Station or Leshan Bus Station in Leshan City. After you arrive in the Bus Station, you should take a local bus or a taxi to the Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area.

To hire a private car with a private journey is the most comfortable way for you can travel at your own pace. It usually takes about 2.5 hours from Chengdu downtown to the Leshan Giant Buddha Scenic Area directly.

Leshan to Mount Emei

Most tourists visit Leshan Giant Buddha together with Mount Emei. Since Mount Emei is just 32 kilometers away from Leshan, it is very convenient to get to Mount Emei from Leshan city.

By High-speed Train

There are 8 high-speed trains a day from Leshan to Emei, which start from Leshan Railway Station and arrive at Emeishan Railway Station in 15 minutes. The ticket price is RMB 25 for the business class seat, RMB 13 for the first class seat and RMB 11 for the second class seat.

By Bus

You can take a bus in Leshan Xiaoba Bus Station. It will take you 40 minutes, and the ticket price is RMB 8.

By Chartered Car

If you rent a private car with a driver for your Leshan Emei tour, you can reach to Mount Emei more fluently and do not need to waste your time waiting for the train or the bus. Your driver will pick you up and send you to Mount Emei directly. It takes about 0.5 hour from Leshan to Emei by car.

Leshan to Jiuzhaigou

Jiuzhaigou Valley is another one of the top attractions in Sichuan Province. That’s why many tourists want to visit Jiuzhaigou, as well as Leshan Giant Buddha and Mount Emei together during their tour in Sichuan.

In fact, Leshan and Mount Emei are at the opposite side to Jiuzhaigou, for Leshan and Emei are located in the southwest of Chengdu city and Jiuzhaigou is located in north of Chengdu. The distance between Leshan and Jiuzhaigou is 550 kilometers. Here are some ways to get to Jiuzhaigou from Leshan.

By Chartered Car

It is the most convenient way to get to Jiuzhaigou from Leshan by car. You can rent a car in Chengdu. And the driver will send you to Leshan at first. After you travel around Leshan Giant Buddha and Mount Emei, the driver will send you to Jiuzhaigou. Along the way from Leshan to Jiuzhaigou, there are many famous attractions, such as Dujiangyan Irrigation System, Mount Qingcheng and Wenchuan County. You can stop at these attractions if you are willing to travel around.

By Plane

It is the fastest way to get to Jiuzhaigou from Chengdu by plane. Since there is no airport in Leshan, you should go back to Chengdu first, and then take a flight to Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport.

Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport is 88 kilometers away from Jiuzhaigou and 43 kilometers from Huanglong Scenic Area. You can take a shuttle bus or rent a car to Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area after arriving at the Airport.
