Daocheng Yading Packing List

When planning a tour to highland area, what to pack is a difficult thing which is always bothering you. Here is the packing list we collected from our previous guests and experience which could be helpful for you to prepare your tour to Daocheng.

1. Documents

No matter where you go, you need to take your passport, China visa with you.

2. Clothes

Daocheng is located at an average elevation of about 3,800 meters, which determines that there is a huge temperature difference between daytime and nigh time. So, no mater which season you choose to go, overcoats, down garment, woolen sweaters, gloves, warm and wind-proof shoes and socks are necessary.

There are several sections of road in Yading Scenic Area require hiking, due to the bad condition. Thus, you’d better wear a comfortable hiking boot with good quality. Besides, tourists also need to bring hats, sunglasses and raincoats to deal with the changeable climate.

3. Hygienic Items

Daocheng is located in the remote area away from big cities, it is suggested that tourists bring their own hygienic items like a cup, a small towel, a toothbrush, toothpaste, slippers and some disposable underpants.

4. Medicines

Diamox pills for preventing the altitude sickness; Aspirin for cold or headache; regular medicine for stomach ache, insect bite, diarrhea and so on. If you are taking any regular medicines, you’d better take double of your needs in case of lose.

Besides, it is better to bring some throat lozenge, tourniquet bandage, band-aid.

5. Items about Dining

In highland area, a vacuum cup which can keep water warm is needed. Dry food with high energy can keep you full and keep your physical strength.

6. Hiking Equipment

Such as sleeping bag, hiking pole, Swiss army knives and etc.
