Getting There & Away

By Air

Located in the southeast bank of Erhai Lake, Dali Airport is 12 km away from the downtown. It manages several airlines connecting with Kunming, Xishuangbanna, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chongqing and Chengdu.

Bus No.7 makes a round-trip between Xiaguan and the airport with tickets costing CNY 1. And there are two shuttle buses running between airport and Cangshan Hotel.

Dali Train Station is located on Yunling Road, which is an important hub to the tourist train lines in Yunnan. It can be reached by Dali city buses No.6, 7, 8, 10, and 11. It manages train lines with Lijiang and Kunming, which will take respectively 2 hours and 7 hours.

By Long-distance Bus

Dali long-distance bus is another important means of transportation in Dali. There are several bus station in Dali manage bus lines with Kunming, Lijiang, Shangri-La, Tengzhong, as well as few buses to cities outside Yunnan.

Getting Around

1. By City-Bus

There are more than ten city bus lines running in Dali City. It is very convenient to take city bus to get around in Dali city. And some bus can take tourists to some scenic spot. Bus No.6 to Erhai Lake and No.8 to Dali Ancient City and etc. It is cheap and enjoyable.

2. By Taxi

The taxi service in Dali is very convenient too. The starting fare in CNY 5 for the first 3 km and CNY 1.4 for every extra kilometers for normal taxi. And for Santana brand taxi, the starting fare will be CNY 6 and CNY 1.6 for extra per kilometer.

3. By Bicycle

Renting a bicycle to tour the Ancient City of Dali is an ideal way to get close to the city’s beauty and charm. It is easy to rent a bike in Dali. Generally, the rental price is about CNY 20-30 per day with a deposit paid in advance.
