Chengdu, as the capital of Sichuan Province, is renowned as the “Land of Abundance” (Tian Fu Zhi Guo), which is richly endowed with spectacular natural resources and historical heritages. Located in the west of Sichuan Basin and in the center of Chengdu Plain, Chengdu covers a total area of 12.3 thousand square kilometers with a population of over 14 million. Throughout the whole history of China, the name and the address of Chengdu has never been changed. It is of great importance to the politics, economy and culture of Southwestern China and one of the most important city along the watershed of Yangtze.
It is said that Chengdu is a city you will never want to say goodbye after arrival. Indeed, the pace of life in Chengdu is the most suitable pace for human. Moreover, there are more thrilling sights in this area located outside Chengdu, including the Mount Emei, Leshan Giant Buddha, Dujiangyan Irrigation Dam, Mount Qingcheng and so on. Located at the middle reach of Minjiang River, Chengdu is a pivotal hub connecting the Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, Daocheng Yading, Lugu Lake and other famous tourist attractions in Sichuan.
